Who We Are

We are Mike and Kari MacKenzie, a husband and wife team, Christian counselors who received our Doctorate Degrees from Lincoln Christian University and have Masters in Counseling Degrees in addition to completing doctoral work in the area of Marriage and Family Counseling through Denver Seminary. 

We have over 20 years of combined experience, having counseled hundreds of individuals and couples, and we have served Northern Colorado for over 7 years. 

As a couple, we enjoy counseling couples as a team.

We have experience counseling in intensive weekly formats and in individual hourly sessions.  We lead Marriage Enrichment conferences and classes together.  We are both ordained ministers for the Christian Church.  Hiking, Biking, Camping, and walking our dogs are some of our favorite recreational activities.

Dr. Mike MacKenzie

Mike has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 13 years. As well, He is a nationally certified counselor.  He is a member of the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) and takes Aetna Insurance. His experience includes 5 years of grief counseling with Hospice. He plays ice hockey, enjoys reading, hiking, fishing, and spending time with his wife.

Dr. Kari MacKenzie 

Kari is a registered psychotherapist. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). She spent two years in East Asia as a missionary for Campus Crusade for Christ. She was the director of a campus counseling center before moving to Colorado. Kari enjoys aerobics, walking, scuba-diving, playing her flute, and spending time with Mike.
